Holiday Hours

We welcome and encourage you to visit our historic 1910, Addison Hutton-designed, building and its collections at 1300 Locust Street.  Please note that to facilitate closing procedures at the end of the work-day, entry into the library, photocopy service, and paging all end 45 minutes prior to closing.

Weather/Emergency closings are announced at 215-732-6200 ext. 505

Please note:  In the event of severe weather, HSP will be closed when the Philadelphia Public Schools are closed.  A message will be left on the Weather/Emergency line (ext. 505) announcing the closing.  In the case of delayed openings for the Philadelphia School District, HSP staff will use their judgment to assess whether it is safe to travel and arrive at work as soon as it is reasonable to do so.  If the Philadelphia School District has delayed openings on Fridays, HSP will not open to the public until 12:30.  Thank you.

• Thursday      12:30-5:30  (last admittance at 4:45 p.m.)
• Friday          10:00-5:30  (last admittance at 4:45 p.m.)

The Library is closed Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays as indicated below.
